You could take a picture of the china cabinet to a local antique dealer and ask them.
sometimes you will find mfg info inside the drawers or the bottom of a drawer as well
Sometimes the manufacturer leaves their identity in the hardware of the furniture.
Hi Robin, I believe that's a bow front china cabinet which was probably manufactured by Drexel. I think that one is part of the Travis Court Collection and would have been made sometime in the early 1950's to the late 1960's. The MAH stands for mahogany.
Mah is Mahogony finish & color. Take this picture to where you bought the piece and see if they have any info about this. Have you checked the back and inside the drawers to make sure there aren't any stamps or other marks to help ID this?
Hi Robin: I found this out: Circa 1950's Colonial style Hepplewhite China cabinet. Check this site, it has a picture of your cabinet, among others: https://www.myantiquefurniturecollection.com/we-have-a-china-cabinet-with-the-following-stamp-d.747-5-mah.-any-ideas-wha...-26473.html Also, this one may help: https://www.myantiquefurniturecollection.com/was-wanting-to-find-out-more-info-about-an-antique-china-cabinet-we-have.-w...-2141913.html click on the brown words for more information.
Is it Mahogany? Any other pictures?
Looks like Edwardian with Astro glazed glass doors. Nice piece! Good luck!
If your cabinet is for beauty rather than an investment, you can do as much or as little as you like, but the original hardware is an artistic feature of the complete design, so I'm happy to see you interested in careful handling.
