Cost and effort may be more than the chair is worth fixing. New chairs may be a better option.

you can but the cost is about the same as buying a new chair.
I wish I had pictures of the one I did. I used canvas fabric and added grommets on the sides then ran white rope through the holes in the chair and laced them through the grommets down and around the back and seat of the chair.
You can also exchange your old patio chair and can get a new recliners. Recliners are very comfortable.
