Decorating Pillows and Throws

Choose your design: Decide on the design you wish to use. You could opt for a transferrable pattern or you could draw your design, free-hand.
Choose your embellishments: Select any items you think will add to the overall effect: sequins, beads, embroidery, lace, tassels, appliques, ribbons, transfers, or paint.
Apply your chosen embellishment: Select the best way to apply your embellishments. Beads and sequins are best sewed on, while lace and ribbons will adhere with fabric glue.
Take comfort into account: Avoid embellishments in the center of your throw. Stick to the corners and outer border to preserve its comfort.
Effective display: Place your pillows on a sofa, perpendicular to the floor. Using your hand, dent the center of the top edge.

When I moved into this house, it needed to be totally repainted. I took that as an opportunity to update my decor, but I didn't want to buy all new things. I had pored over countless decorating magazines and websites, and knew that I had to choose colors that I loved. However, I didn't want to go crazy with my paint and other finishes, or get wildly colored furniture that I could tire of before it wore out. I decided to stick to basics (bland) for the furniture and main fabrics, like my drapes and bedding, and add pops of color with small things, like pillows, vases, pictures, etc.(I really would like to paint my whole house in violets, blues, and shades of pink and red, but was afraid of how it would turn out!)Since I loved the colors in my bedroom rug and pictures that I put above the couch, I used those for inspiration.

Denim is such a versatile fabric - as someone who loves working with old jeans I am blessed that friends and work colleagues kindly pass me there worn out pairs. This cushion is inspired by the desire to use up denim scraps left over from previous projects.To make the chevron cushion you will need an 18"zip, 6 yards of ribbon, and 3/4 pairs of old jeans.Lets start making the back for the cushion cover. Check your jeans, pick the pair with a wide and straight leg. Cut off the hem off the jeans, and then cut the leg off at 19″. Then cut down the seam with the most curve leaving a straight line. Cut a further piece of denim 19″ long from the other leg.Place together – check the two pieces will make a 19″ square. If not add another panel.

I need ideas on cheap outdoor couch cushions?

I just bought an Ikea outdoor couch frame for $20. ,without the cushions. When I went looking at different stores for new cushions I almost had a stroke at the prices If I go new $140.-$200. I just cannot pay that. So I've been all over CL looking,discount stores,online, nothing. Oh, almost forgot to mention,I CAN'T SEW . The couch is 69" long and 25" deep so it is fairly large.And I was just thinking of putting loose throw pillows for the back. I know someone must have an idea that I have not thought of yet ?
