Decorate Easter Eggs with Dye

Boil your eggs: Place your eggs in a pot of cold water and turn on the heat. Allow the eggs to boil for around 15 minutes.
Prepare your dye: To dye one egg, add half a cup of water, a teaspoon of vinegar, and 20 drops of your chosen food coloring.
One container per color: Don’t risk mixing colors at random. Use an entirely different container for each colored dye, to ensure a vibrant coloring for your eggs.
Submerge your eggs: One at a time, place your eggs in the prepared dyes. Use a spoon to lower the egg into the dye. Leave the egg submerged for five minutes.
Create multi-colored eggs: Dip only a portion of the egg to dye half of it, before doing the other side in a different color. Be sure to leave to dry fully in between.

This year I'm starting spring off right with this super cute Easter tablescape that I am thoroughly proud of. Matthew and I recently moved into our first apartment with a dining room, so this is the first tablescape I've decorated in my own home which is exciting (for literally just me 😜)In addition to the plaster egg centerpiece, I also made the tablecloth from some Hobby Lobby fabric, dyed the napkins ($1 white bandanas from HobLob!) with the same blue dye as I did the eggs and the plaster, and used greenery from -YOU GUESSED IT... HobLob- to decorate the table.But as for the plaster egg centerpiece, here's how I did it! (and be prepared to make LOTS and only get a few usable finished products... but in my opinion it's worth it!)

More Painted Plastic Eggs

This particular post is for Hannah. :) I have been asked to add more details on how to paint those plastic easter eggs. I hope they are just as good as what she thought they were. I also need to mention that these eggs were initially inspired by a blogger named, Heather Metzler from her hometalk post. These are the things I used to paint those plastic eggs. 1. White Chalk paint, used like primer 2. Craft paint in oatmeal, morning blue, sea foam green, black, and medium gray. 3. Plastic eggs in pastel colors(I got 12 for 0.88 at Wal-Mart for my first attempt) 4. Skewer to be used to anchor the eggs while painting(now I know why I pick up things like that at goodwill, haha) 5. craft paint brush

Dollar store eggs, napkins and glue are all you need to make these cute eggs! Today I am sharing another really simple Easter egg craft that I first did with my Grandmother over 45 years ago. Yes, I am telling my age! I have written before about how much I loved going to my Grandmother’s house and looking forward to what new craft she was working on for her church bazaar. We made these when I was in elementary school so this is also a craft you can do with children or grandchildren.
